OUR STORY

037.jpg

It was just one conversation.

We were all strangers and yet the Lord was stirring the same thing in each of our hearts as individuals. The passion to see songs come from the east, to write about what God was doing in our churches, in our towns and in our cities grew and grew as we spoke. It was like the chorus of a song kept repeating:

Spirit Come!

We want to see you move in power!

Spirit come blow through East Anglia!

Norwich, Thetford, Cambridge and Sudbury folk decided to get in a room and write, and what happened was more than anybody could have hoped or dreamed -

the very song that the Spirit of God was writing on our hearts and minds was beginning to come alive in us.

We give you, 'Songs from the East'

To God be the glory!

SONG STORIES

SPIRIT COME

This song came out of our first ever songwriting day, where we all gathered in a cozy corner in Thetford with our instruments and insecurities for the first time. We didn't really know how it was going to work, or what our strengths were as songwriters, we just knew what we wanted: to capture what God was doing, and put it to music. The overriding theme in each of our churches at the time was hunger for more of the Spirit. And Tim Gosden brilliantly penned the heart of what many of us were longing to see. We wanted a song that could be used during or before ministry time, and something that made space to experience the wonderful Presence of the Holy Spirit.
